International Organization for Migration, Mission in Ukraine
Kyiv, October 25th, 2007 - The Centre for Migrant Advice (CMA) is starting to operate in Kyiv at the International Organization for Migration Mission in Ukraine. The Centre for Migrant Advice is established within the framework of the Capacity Building in Migration Management Programme: Ukraine with the assistance of the European Commission.
Centre for Migrant Advice aims to:
1. Provide confidential and free information to Ukrainian citizens on the current realities of working, studying, and living abroad. The information will specifically concern the practical issues including how to get the appropriate protection while travelling/residing abroad, and how to protect oneself against potential fraud while working abroad.
2. Provide confidential and free information to the foreigners on the current Ukrainian legislation, and on the instruments of legal protection that are at their disposal during their stay in Ukraine.
CMA Services:
The CMA Expert will provide consultation on the following matters:
- necessary procedures, conditions, documents and requirements for legal migration;
- the ways to minimize the risk of being cheated by intermediary employment agencies;
- legal employment opportunities, study programmes and residence opportunities abroad;
- on-line resources on employment opportunities, study programmes and residence opportunities abroad (free Internet access for searching migration-related information);
- reintegration opportunities upon return to Ukraine;- foreigners’ rights in Ukraine, the rights of Ukrainians abroad and the corresponding protection of their rights.
All services of the CMA are provided free of charge.
Consultation is available in Ukrainian, English and Russian.
Consultation at the CMA can be done:
Over the phone Monday to Thursday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
In person Monday to Thursday: 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
(lunch break 1.30 p.m. to 2 p.m.)
